The Huntsville City Council will be honoring the Huntsville Hornet football team at 6 p.m. Tuesday, December 18th, during their regular meeting. The Council invites the public to join in the recognition of all the hard work and dedication the coaches, players, and supporters have invested in their success this fall.
The 2018 Hornets finished their season with a 12-2 record, earning the titles of District 10 – 5A Division II champions, Bi-District – 5A Division II champions, Area – 5A Division II champions, Region Semi-Final 5A Division II champions, and Region 3 finalists. The team also garnered several All-District awards in District 10 - 5A Division II.
The Council will hold a workshop at 5 p.m. Tuesday, regarding a partnership between Rita B. Huff Humane Society and the City of Huntsville (Council workshops are posted and open for the public to attend. Public comments are part of regular meetings, not of workshops). The Huntsville City Council meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. The nine-member Council is composed of the Mayor, four At-Large positions, and four Ward positions.
