Computer Classes

Note on Computer Lab Usage: 

  • When using the computer in the Adult Computer Lab, if more time is needed, make sure to ask before time is up. All work will be lost once time runs out.
  • The computers in the Lab turn off 15 minutes before closing time. Weekdays at 6:45 p.m. and Saturdays at 3:45 p.m. 

Computer Programs

Classes on basic computer use and programs are held on a monthly schedule. Classes are held in the Computer Lab and are limited to 16 students per class. Classes meet on Tuesdays either from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or 5 to 6 p.m. You may sign up for one day or multiple days, as you need. Days and dates are not absolute(s) until you register. If you are interested in any of these classes, please fill out one registration form for the class you wish to start with using the links below. Please be patient as we work to get you into a class as fast as we can. You must have been registered and contacted in order to come to class. November - Microsoft PowerPoint Classes

Learn how to create a presentation with animation, narration, images, videos, and much more! Huntsville Public Library is offering free Microsoft PowerPoint classes this November. Classes will be held from 11:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m. and  5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, starting November 6th through November 27th in the Computer Room. In this course, you'll learn your way around the PowerPoint presentations, including the Ribbon, Quick Access Toolbar, and Backstage view. Class size is limited. December - Free Google Docs Classes 

Tired of losing unsaved work? Do you want to access your documents on any computer? Come explore how Google Drive’s free, web-based word processor can help. Register for the Google Docs classes hosted by the Huntsville Public Library. Classes will be held in the library’s Nash Board Room. Morning classes are from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and Evening classes are from 5:00-6:00 p.m. on Tuesdays in December. This class will teach how to upload, create, edit, and share documents using Google Docs. Class size is limited and registration is required. It is preferred for individuals signing up to have a Google Gmail account setup prior to class and be familiar with using the Internet, keyboard and mouse. A library card is required to participate in the classes. If you don’t have a card bring your ID!
